Our mission has always been simple: to honour those we’ve lost and support bereaved Sunderland fans with dignity, compassion, and togetherness. What started as a small act of solidarity has grown into something truly meaningful — and with that growth comes responsibility.

Because the branch is run 100% by volunteers, every penny donated goes exactly where it should: straight back into supporting families. Honestly, it’s hard enough to get our volunteers to let us buy them a cup of tea, never mind anything else.

To keep moving forward, we’ve decided that the Sunderland Supporters Heaven Branch will become a Community Interest Company (CIC). This gives us the structure and recognition to stay transparent, apply for community grants, and protect our values for the long term — while ensuring everything we raise continues to go directly into the work we were set up to do.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, supported, shared kind words, or simply kept us in their thoughts. Becoming a CIC doesn’t change who we are — it strengthens what we stand for.
